- X-Arcade 2-in-1 adapter with permanently attached cables.
- Brook Wingman XE2 adapter.
- Current Brook Wingman XE2 firmware with Nintendo Switch 2 support.
- Nintendo Switch 2 dock.
Older detachable-cable 2-in-1 adapter versions may not be compatible with this setup.
Step 1: Enable wired controller support on the Switch 2
- Open System Settings.
- Go to Controllers & Accessories.
- Turn on Pro Controller Wired Communication.
- Fully restart the Switch 2.
Do not skip the restart. The setting may not behave correctly until the console has rebooted.
Step 2: Set the X-Arcade controller to Mode 1
Set the rear mode switch on the Tankstick Max or Tankstick with Trackball to Mode 1 / Keyboard Mode before connecting the adapter chain.
Mode 1 is the recommended starting point for this setup.
Step 3: Update the Brook Wingman XE2
Use Brook's firmware updater to install the latest Wingman XE2 firmware that supports Nintendo Switch 2.

If the adapter is detected but inputs do not work, update the XE2 firmware before replacing the adapter.
Step 4: Put the Wingman XE2 into NS mode
Put the XE2 into Nintendo Switch mode using the Brook mode shortcut.
If the Tankstick does not have a PS/Home button needed for the shortcut:
- Temporarily connect another controller that has a PS/Home button.
- Set the XE2 into NS mode.
- Disconnect that controller.
- Reconnect the X-Arcade adapter chain.
The XE2 LED should become solid when recognized correctly.
Step 5: Connect Player 1 first
For Player 1:
- Connect the Player 1 side first.
- Press the left lower side button plus
P1to complete the handshake.
For Player 2:
- Connect Player 2 only after Player 1 is recognized.
- Press the right lower side button plus
P2.
If it still does not work
